Before Coyote's name was Coyote and before her dad became Rodeo, she had 2 other sisters: Ava and Rose. 5 days before their death, she and her mom (Anna) go to the park and put a tin filled with memories, locks of hair, drawings, rocks etc. But then after that, her mom and two sisters die of a car accident. Her dad, filled with grief, decides to get a school bus, convert it to a home, and travel everywhere around America, running away from their past life Poplin Springs, their home.
