Major functions of reproduction system.
Female:
Is the production of the egg fertilization.
Production of egg which prepares it for pregnancy .
Ductus system: Delivery of female egg.
Male:
Males basically have to help with the fertilization of the egg.
Produces large amount of semen or gementes.
Anatomy of male reproductive structures
Sperm: Semen carries it with liquid.
Penis: Tubular organ passes conducts urine to outside.
Vas defernes: Carries the sperm from the epydirims,
Tunica Albuginea: A Capsule surrounding testes
Testes: Oval looking structure that produces sperm.
Sertoli Cells: Provide nutrients and supportive funcitons.
Spermatogenesis: is what begins pubery.
Anatomy of female reproductive structures
Vaginal- Birth canal and is where penis enters during sexual intercourse.
Uterus: Receive andNourish fertilized egg.
Ovaries: is the female gonad.
Suspensory ligaments- Is inside the vagina. Is the walls of to secure the penis.
Oogenisis: is the total supply of the eggs for females.
Inner layers: are to allow the egg to fertilize.
Myometrium- Middle of layer of smooth muscle.
Hormones of the reproductive system(male and female)
For males theres Testosterone stimulates productive organ develoment and causes the sex drive.
Inhibit released by the testes when leves of testosterone.
LH: Stimulates semiferous tubules to screte testrome.
FSH: Which is puberty and males never finish Puberty.
Male:
GNRH: Is released by low leves of testosterone. stimulates anterior pituitary gland.
Female:
Estrogen: Primary sex hormone for females. Causes thickens of urine.
GNRH: released by developing of primary follicle.
LH: Is spike of hormone that trigers ovulation.
Progesterne: Trigers Supression.
Events of the female hormonal cycles
Uterine and Menstrual cycle
The Menstrual cycle is during the 1-5 days of bleeding and the prostogen/ estrogen declines
Day 6-14 Proliferation is when Estrogen simulates growth of blood vessels. That forms an ovulated egg.
Day 15-28 is when is ready for secretory Phase when is ready for pregnancy.
Ovarian Cycle
The first 1- 14 days is called the Follicular Phase. This starts beginning of menstruation until the ovulation.
Ovulation happens usual towards the middle of the cycle around day 14.
During this time prostogen rises before and cause the temperature to change.
During the days 15-28 is called the Luteal Phase. Follicle expels oocyte, empty shell because a corpus.
Disorders associated with the reproductive system
Syphilis: Is caused by bacteria. which is spread by semen or vaginal fluid. This causes pain, sores, and fever.
Chlamydia: Is the most common and is caused by bacteria. Males pain and swelling in testis and discharge from penis.
Gonorrhea: Caused by bacteria. Spreads through close contact sexually. Females burning when urinating and between periods.
Herpes: Has no cure, could only be treated, and caused by herpes virus.
Aids: Caused by HIV and it spreads through sex. Could only be treated.
Genital Warts: caused by HPV and can take vaccine to prevent it.
Trichinosis causes by parasite. Itching in vaginal opening. Can be treated.
Pubic lice(Crabs): are parasites that look like crabs. Causes itching on top of mens area.
