Upper Canada
December 2, 1837
After hearing news of the battle of Saint-Charles in Lower Canada, Mackenzie begins to organize a rebellion in Upper Canada.

Events in 1838
From the U.S Mackenzie still organized raids on Upper Canada. He captures navy Island near Niagra falls, where he declares a "Republic of Upper Canada." British troops and volunteers push back the raids each time.
The goverment arms to volunteers in Upper Canada to fight Mackenzie and his followers. The volunteers quickly defeat the rebels. mackenzie fled to the U.S.

Makenzie lead a unorganized attack on York. Which breaks up confusion after a confrontation with fighters loyal to the goverment.

The goverment attempts to arrest Patriote leaders, including papineau. The leaders escaped to the county side. The Patriotes were getting ready to fight against British troops.

Britain rejects a petition for reforms prepared by the parti patriote the ninety-two resoultions. Papineau organized organized rallies againt the goverment.

British perspective on Mackenzie: I think they would have hated him. They most likly think he deserved to be sent away. The British probably hated that he organized attacks on Upper Canada while he was still in America.

When did the majority of the key events happen for Lower and Upper Canada? What do you belive are the reasons for a majority of the events having these dates so close together?

Were these reformers successful in their attempt to make changes in the colonies of Upper and Lower Canada?
I think they were succesful in what they were trying to accomplish. They all wanted where the people get to vote for their leaders. If you look at it today that is how it works. They all got what they want and it played out the way they wanted it to. Thats good for them and they accompplished their goals.
