Creation Myth: In Opedism, the creation myth goes like this. In ancient times, there were only gods. No Opedites or other creatures. They all lived happily, in a happy area full of anything anyone could or would ever want. Out of all of these people, there was one in particular that was regarded to be the most powerful. The god of fire, Gite. One day, a huge boulder came flying out of the darkness, and shattered into this happy place, directly into Gite. The boulder shattered gods, goods, and the boulder alike. This huge boulder shattered into what we now know are boulders, and each of the gods tried with all their might to find the rest. all but one. This gods name was Yite and he used the materials that were in his area when everything shattered apart as well as a piece of the boulder to create what he called "Yinth". He created waterfalls, and rivers, mountains and valleys. Yite created everything we know and see today. Unfortunately, despite all his efforts, nothing would live or grow. Eventually Yite gave up and managed to find his way back to the wreckage of the town, and saw everyone else there too. Yite also noticed a huge ball of fire, what we know as Isgite in the distance, He realized it was what was left of Gite. Yite dropped the Yinth and rushed over, but the heat was too much, and he joined his friends. They told him that they had been waiting for him, and that he had taken a long time to come back. The other gods then explained that Gite was not dead, but he was stuck where he was and could only ever view life from a distance. When questioned about this he showed them the Yinth, but it was different, it was green! The heat given off by Gite had thawed the Yinth and now life sprung up.
