      - left atrioventricular valve has 3 leaflets + is regurgitant (tends to leak)
        
        causes apical pansys murmur

      - SOB + FTT after 1 wk of life
      - recurrent chest infections
    - - tachypnoea
      - tachycardia
      - hepatomegaly
      - active praecordium
      - soft pansys murmur or no murmur (implies large defect)
