what the British did
The Est India Company, a group of British traders, controlled all trade between Britain and India at the time. In this way the British were making money from Indian products.
East Indian Company began to take land from local Indian leaders. By the middle of 19th century, the Est India Company controlled a large part of India.
what the Indians did
Some indian people were angry with British people, also because Indian people had to pay takes to them.
In 1857 there was a great rebellion by the Indian Soldiers, but the British army won the battle, and in 1858, India officially became a British colony.
