LEVERS - Coggle Diagram
LEVERS
TYPES OF LEVERS
Class 1
the load and effort are on opposite sides of the fulcrum
effort can be multiplied or reduced
Class 2
the load is between the effort and the fulcrum
effort is always multiplied d>r
Class 3
the effort is between the fulcrum and the load
effort is always reduced d<r
according to the position of the load and effort
the effort is applied on one end of the lever with the aim of counteracting the load
the load acts on the other end
the lever is balanced when
F x d = R x r
This is the law of lever
F = effort d= distance R=load r= its distance from the fulcrum
a rigid bar that is used with a point of support or a fulcrum
