FAUNA AND FLORA
Due to their isolation from the rest of the world, Australia and Oceania have an incredibly high number of endemic species, or species found nowhere else on Earth. Many of Australia and Oceania's most familiar native animals are marsupials, endemic animals include the koala, kangaroo and wallaby.

WATER BODIES
Sweet water
- Baykal Lake: It is located in the south of Russia, it is the deepest in the world. It contains 20% of the world's liquid fresh water, making it the largest reservoir of water on Earth. It is also the oldest lake, it is 25 million years old.
- The Yangtze: it is the longest river in Asia and the third longest in the world.
Saltwater
- The Persian Gulf: It has an area of more than 234,000 km2. The sea floor below the Persian Gulf contains approximately 50 percent of the world's oil reserves.
- The Sea of Okhotsk: it stretches for 1.5 million km2 between mainland Russia and the Kamchatka Peninsula.

RELIEF
Asia can be divided in five main physical regions: mountain systems, plateaus, plains, steppes and deserts; also important are freshwater ecosystems and saltwater ecosystems. The three main mountain systems are: Himalayas, Tien Shan and Urals.
