        Governments would supress anti war activity. Even covering up news of losses and producing propeganda to keep the war going at home and keep morale up.
        
        Nationalism: This is related to natinalism because people were so for the war and winning it and showing their pride that they were willing to do rationing to help win the war.
        
        How did total war lead to rationing?
        
        Because of how invested the governments and people were into the war they wanted to do anything to win and introduced rationing to be able to give more to the soldiers at the fronts.
        
        Why did the wartime governments take control of the countrie's econemy?
        
        Because they needed to produce what they needed to the most and knew what was needed and what was not needed. They were willing to do anything to win the war.

        Women would also help to produce munitions, tanks, they also plowed fields, paved streets, and help ran hospitals. As well as keeping troops supplied with food and clothing and weapons.
        
        When the war was over and women left their jobs, people's perspective on women changed and became more respectable.
        
        Why did women replace men in jobs?
        
        To help boost troop production, with women taking their job and needing a new one they hoped that they would join the army and fight.

        Artillery and mortars trying to adjust their aim to hit the trenches, digging said trenches, flamethrowers, etc.
        
        WWI left a deep mark on Western society caused by the enormous suffering. those who survived started to disillusionment from the war was reflected in their art and literature.
        
        Why might Westerners have experienced disillusionment in the wake of World War I?
        
        they thought it wars would end shortly, for example: 8 months, and many would return home. what they didn't expect was that it lasted longer and was absolute carnage of human life.
