Emphatize Stages
This stage is to get an empathic understanding of the problem to be solved. At this stage an approach is made to our customers.
This stage can be done going directly to the field to meet them doing the interviews and it can also act like they are. So customers problem that really want to be resolved can run smoothly.
At this stage we are
required to have an understanding of how they do things and why they do it, then their physical and emotional needs, as they think about the problem and what is most important to them. (Plattner, 2010).
The steps for the
researcher to collect the data needed (Saputra, 2016):
Observe, namely researchers see users and their behavior in using the
product.
Engage, namely interacting and conducting interviews with users regarding their needs and expectations
Immerse, Immerse is trying to experience, hear or feel what the customer is experiencing or feeling.
Define Stages
A designer is required to accumulate the information obtained at the stage, then empathy carry out an analysis and definition of what problems will be solved
To understand and get input from the problems experienced by users. the problems referred to are not only limited to necessary needs but also unmet needs
The stage define allows one to identify the various elements required; such as product functions and features; as well as collecting ideas that are a source of problem solving. The collecting csn be done by asking questions, or by positioning oneself as an end user
