Denudation
Rocks on the earths surface are constantly being worn down by a number of processes known as denudation. The two main process in denudation are weathering and erosion.
Weathering is the process that physically changes solid rock into smaller pieces or sediments. When weathering takes place, the broken sediments remain in place.
