respiratory system - Coggle Diagram
respiratory system
respiratory system components and function
oral cavity (mouth) - helps in inhaling and exhaling when the nose is blocked
nasal cavity and nose - makes the air warm, humidify the air and remove air. particles
tongue
pharynx(throat)- the air from the pharynx goes to the trachea
larynx - it produces voice and has. vocal cords
esophagus is the food pipe
trachea - it is the windpipe and air from the pharynx goes to the lungs through trachea
bronchi- air from the trachea goes to the right and left lung by right and left bronchi.
bronchioles - inhaled air passes from bronchi to bronchioles and then to alveoli. exhales air passes from alveoli to bronchioles and then to bronchi to trachea
alveoli- in alveoli gas exchange occurs as alveoli are surrounded by network of capillaries. Oxygen passes from alveoli into the capillaries blood and co2 passes from capillaries blood into the alveoli and is exhaled out.
Diaphragm - during inhalation diaphragm contracts so that lungs can expand and during exhale diaphragm relaxes.
