in the trenches they could not stay hygienic so as you can imagen there were lots of dirty animals and bugs, for example there were rats, lice and maggots in the food. and the lice would make them really itchy.

there was lots of rats that were the size of cats, they was this size because they ate the dead bodies

trench foot
in the trenches lots of people got trench foot, trench foot was caused by standing in the muddy water for so long, it made their feet rot and would sometimes have to get their foot amputated.
the trenches are cold, dirty, and dark

the food would be easy to cook and in packets, they would just eat those when they had the time
when you where trying to sleep, there would be people on the lookout and shooting going on, this would obviously make it hart to sleep
