- - - - Farmer Brown is in charge of the farm but is off on a vacation. He is a strict farmer who is smart and knows his animals very well. He is prepared for their tricks yet grows angry when he discovers Duck's actions.
  - - - Bob is Farmer Brown's brother who is watching the farm and animals while Farmer Brown is on vacation. He is naïve as he falls into Duck's trap despite Farmer Brown's warning.
  - - - Duck is a trickster. Although he is one of the leaders on the farm, he is always causing trouble, especially when he writes fake notes to Bob. He enjoys playing jokes on Farmer Brown, but Farmer Brown is well aware of his tricks.
  - - - The cows are silly and demanding. Yet again, they worked closely with Duck to ensure they were treated like humans, given pizza to eat and movies to watch.
  - - - The pigs are minor characters who are in on the trick. They enjoy getting taken care of and think the joke on Bob is hilarious.
