Indications
chronic myelogenous luekamia
used in combination with cyclophosphamide prior to bone marrow transplantation
treat lymphomas
myeloproliferative disorders
control tumor burdens
Mechanism of action
Cross-linking DNA strands
Initiating breaks in the DNA molecule
alter DNA structure by misreading DNA code
Contra-indications
low amount of potassium in the blood
anaemia
low amount of magnesium in the blood
decreased blood platelets
Side effects
dizziness
nausea
bone marrow suppression
vomiting
abdominal pain
Storage conditions
more stable when stored at 2-8 degrees celcius, regardless of the container, than at higher temperatures.
