idiopathic
Intro
acute, self-limiting, sometimes recurring skin condition
type IV hypersensitivity
Wide spectrum of severity
EM minor
localised eruption of skin with minimal or no mucosal involvement
papules evolve into pathognomonic target aka iris lesions that appear within 72hrs + begin on extremities
Lesions remain in fixed location for @ least 7 d + then begin to heal
arcuate appearance may be present
EM major
more severe, potentially life-threatening
1+ mucous membranes are involved + up to 10% of body area may have epidermal detachment
over 50% of cases are attributed to meds
