Questions I must ask of myself?
1) How do people learn? 2) What informs learning design? 3) How do I promote authentic learning? 4) What is my niche contribution to this industry?
MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
is to drive teaching and learning in schools by disrupting thinking and changing behaviour.
I believe that education is the creation of energy through engagement of the mind, body and heart. All elements intertwine into new knowledge, new understandings and new experiences.
THEORETICAL FRAMEWORKS
CONNECTIVISM
. In this digital age, I want to promote a learning theory that transports students into be technologically relevant in a global community.
COGNITIVE CONSTRUCTIVISM**
- To recognise that knowledge is something that is actively constructed by learners based on their existing cognitive structures, and to honour this as a theoretical framework, is central to my learning design.
**Humanist Theory in Education
** - I subscribe to the educational theory that believes in teaching the ‘whole’ child. A humanist approach will have a strong focus on students’ emotional well-being and is strongly aligned to the underpinnings of high EQ skills.
ENGAGE ON SOCIAL MEDIA
I need to grow up following by posting insightful commentaries and creating high-engagement posts
This I can do by broadcasting live videos, and publishing on the web. I further could create my website which is linked to my biography and I must list my credentials and awards.
REACH OUT TO INFLUENCERS
Be present and visible at conferences such as EduTech Africa,
I must find my voice by volunteering to contribute to articles that resonate with my beliefs on how people learn.
I must actively build relationships by networking with influential thought leaders.
Stay intentional and committed to being a lifelong learner.
