Mechanism of action
Moxifloxacin bactericidal action result from inhibition of DNA gyyrase and topoisomerase4. DNA gyrase is an essential enzyme involved in , transcription and repair of bacterial DNA.
Indications
Moxifloxacin is used to treat infection caused by bacteria such as, acute bacterial sinusitis, pneumonia, skin and abdominal infection.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to moxifloxacin
Pregnancy and lactation.
Patients below 18 years of age.
Diarrhea from infection with clostridium defficile bacteria.
Side effects
Nausea or vomiting
Dizziness
Headache
diarrheoa
Storage condition
Does not require any special storage.
Store in original container.
Route of administration
Orally or Intravenously
