signs
The carpal tunnel compression test (Durkan’s test) is positive if pressure over the proximal edge of the carpal ligament (proximal wrist crease) with the thumbs produces or worsens paraesthesia in the distribution of the median nerve.
Sensory abnormalities; pinprick over the palmar aspect of the first 3 fingers and lateral half of the fourth, sparing of the thenar eminence,
examination of the neck (range of motion and Spurling's manoeuvre) can help to confirm or rule out radiculopathy.
