Jesus as the messiah
in the OT messiah meant anyone (priests, prophets kings) who had been anointed with oil but over time it started to mean a particular person chosen by God to save his chosen people
the OT contains many references to this future Messiah & is described as KING, PROPHET, PREIST

Messianic age
all views of messianic expectation were united in the belief of the arrival of a new Messianic age - where God's values & teachings found in the law (Torah) were valued by everyone
an age of peace, justice & harmony, where there is no more suffering, war or evil

Jesus' genealogy
Matthew - Jesus is descended from Abraham (first Jew) ,through King David
Luke - Jesus is descended from Adam, via Abraham & King David (also mentions women)

'And he (Jesus) askes them, But who do you say that i am? Peter answered him, "you are Messiah" And he sternly ordered them not to tell anyone about this'
1 - Jesus never claimed to be the messiah & his 1st disciples didn't think that either, only following resurrection early Christians stared thinking he was the promised Messiah

3 - balancing 'unmessiaic ministry' Mark created (rewrote with new knowledge) moments when Jesus admitted to being the Messiah in order to strengthen emerging belief that he was
Not used in Luke (gentiles) & Matthew (Jews) as their gospels are written to bring people to faith & convert them - want to convince them he is the Messiah
