        Susan Gilbert Dickinson was the only one aware of all Emily's poems and beliefs, as Emily felt she was the only one to understand her
        
        It is believed that Emily and Susan, for this spiritual connection they had, were in love
        
        Emily dedicated to Susan around 300 out of 1700 poems. Susan was also the main receiver of the letters that Emily wrote
      - "I'm nobody!, who are you?"
        
        In this poem she says she doesn't want to be somebody, because "somebodies" will be famous for an amount of time. Their fame is doomed to die, and will leave nothing private
      - "Fame is a bee"
        
        This time, she compares fame to an animal. She uses this metaphor to suggest that fame is something superficial and fleeting
        
        She says that it has a song, because it can be captivating and tempting.
        
        It has a sting, which means it can be venomous and painful.
        
        It has a wing, too, because bees stay in one location just for a while, so she suggests that fame is short-lived and it’s something temporary, that it’s not worth it.
      - "Fame is a fickle food"
        
        She compare fame to this common object so that the metaphor could be understood more easily. She explain that fame is not what it seems to be, yet men eat of it and die. She wants to emphasize than no matter the profits, fame has way more downfalls and can be tricky
