Solar eclipses
Total eclipse is when the moon completely cover the sun's surface, can only be viewed in the path of totality

Hybrid eclipse is when the moon is either in an annular eclipse, or a total eclipse
Lunar eclipses
A total lunar eclipse is when the Earth, Moon and Sun are in alignment, and the moon turns sunset red, dark red or near black
