Water cycle
-
Evaporation
Heat from the sun causes water in water bodies, such as lakes and oceans to evaporate into water vapour.
When water evaporates, impurities such as salt, sugar and sand is left behind.
-
Condensation
Condensation is when water vapour touches the cooler surface of the air and condenses into tiny water droplets that can float in the air.
-
Precipitation
When water droplets in the clouds get too heavy, the cloud will break open and the water droplets fall as rain.
-
Transpiration
Transpiration is when living things give out water vapour through small holes in their bodies. For example, plants give out water vapour through their stomata.
