        Students engage in a think pair share and consider their own ideas of belonging. This cues a class discussion for what it means to belong. Use the belonging YouTube video as a resource to trigger students thinking. use Questioning to drive the discussion.
        
        Students create video montage based of the ideas created in the class discussion of what the believe it means to belong. students can create posters, visual aids, can use storytelling and bring their own experiences into the montage to bring the video together.
        
        After watching the video about Mustafa, students write a narrative about Mustafa's journey to his new home. Students consider the challenges he faced leaving his home, travelling and settling into his new home. This will prepare students for the assessment task. Students, if the would like to can represent this story however they feel comfortable, whether it be using pictures, orally, written or digitally (video)
        
        Students write an analytical paragraph about the challenging issues that are faced in Jeanie Bakers picture book. This activity is scaffolded for students, and through modelling, joint construction and independent/joint construction, students are able to critically respond to the text.
