Solar eclipse
-
4 types of solar eclipses are total, partial, hybrid and annual
Lunar eclipse
-
The three types of eclipses are a total eclipse, a partial eclipse and a penumbral eclipse
A total eclipse is when the Earth falls in the Earths umbral shadow and the Earth, moon and sun and in perfect alignment. These turn the moon a sunset red
A partial eclipse is when the Earth moon and sun don't perfectly align. Only part of the moon pases through Earths umbral shadow. Earths shadow appears very dark on the side of the moon facing earth
A penumbral eclipse is when the moon passes through Earth's penumbral shadow. The moon appears just slightly darker than normal.
Years from now, the moon will be too far away to reach the Earth's umbral shadow.
Inner planets

Earth
-
-
Earth take 24 hours to rotate, which is one day and
365 days to go around the sun.
Mars
-
-
-
Mars has the tallest mountain in the solar system,
Outer planets
Jupiter
-
The is a permanent storm of the surface of Jupiter that is much bigger than Earth called "The great red spot"
-
Saturn
-
-
Saturn has about 50 moons orbiting it and the biggest one is Titan, is one of the only moons with a big atmosphere
Uranus
-
Uranus is so tilted, it looks like its lying on its side
-
-
Pluto
-
Was considered a main planet until 2006 but is now a dwarf planet. Pluto has a different orbit than different planets.
-
Moon
-
The moon was most likely formed when a Mars sized body collided with Earth and formed debris in the sky.
