Child Abuse
Discussion
Point 1
Unstable life ahead
Studies show that children who have been abused in any way are likely to have an unstable life ahead, especially when brought up in horrifying conditions and experiences.
Point 2
Communication Difficulties
Speaking up to people in projects or in normal conversations can be very difficult for these kids depending on how much they have been traumatised when young.
Point 3
Sexual Harassment & Rape
Sexually abused adolescents can be raped and have a high chance of getting pregnant along with the chances of getting sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV and AIDS.
Introduction
Thesis Statement
Hook: Globally in 2019, 3 billion children aged 2-17 years experienced physical, sexual and emotional types of abuse. A quarter of all adults report having been physically abused as children. One in 3 women and one in 11 men report having been sexually abused as a child.
In this report, we would like to explore more about how children are overwhelmed by the mental effects of abuse; the communication difficulties they will face; the sexual problems. How the trauma would determine their future. Staying silent because of the things they went through. How they would be mentally affected because of sexual harassment.

Mind Map by: Wei Shen & Vishwaa
Child abuse impacted children in many ways. Both mentally and physically. Children who suffer from neglect will feel the most pain inside. Many children suffer from low self esteem and feelings of guilt. Children who were victims of sexual abuse have a huge impact on their mental health. Depression and other mental health problems because the violent was committed by someone they trust or someone they know.
To sum it up, there are many cases of child abuse over the years; there have been almost 3 billion child abuse cases from 1998. The three main types of child abuse are physical abuse (50%), mental (30%) and emotional abuse (20%). Children who are abused at such a young age -especially infants and adolescents - are most likely to have a difficult life ahead. When they are sexually abused, they could be affected by STD (like AIDS), and when they are emotionally abused, they can be afflicted with mental problems such as depression, PTSD and such. Most abused children tend to have very poor communication skills as well, resulted by the horrifying conditions they have experienced before.
