Speak Selection
This tool is used to look up unfamiliar words as well has have the text be able to be read to the user.
Students are able to then view the definitions, adjectives, and other examples to help define and understand the word.
When wanting to read a paragraph, you can use the speak selection to have the paragraph read to you.
Epic
When a student approaches an unfamiliar word, they can click on the word and have the definition be read to them!
As the story is being read, it automatically highlights words being said, this can also be turned off for preference.
Teachers can use this app to also pick age and developmentally appropriate books that will best fit their students.
When selecting a book, students are given options that vary from videos, read aloud, audio books, and comics.
Students/Users can visually see their personal profile to keep track of their own books and progress
Pebble Go
Pebble Go provides different interest subjects to create curiosity and interest in exploration. Explores different subjects such as Animals, Science, Biographies, Social Studies, and Health
When students use their mouse to hover over pictures and words, an automatic voice reads aloud the word.
Once students reach the topic, there are options to be read aloud and students can follow along with highlighted text.
Students can also cite and view videos of the chosen topic to get a better understanding. They are also given the option to view the pdf of the activities to print.
Voice Typing
With this feature, users can speak aloud to access writing documents. You can pick and chose which language you would like to speak in.
Google Translate
Google Translate allows for users to upload documents and articles to be translated into other languages.
This tool also allows users to use their phone camera to translate papers and worksheets to promote understanding. You can have the app read aloud to you as you hover over the page.
One Note Immersive Reader
Users can access Dictate mode to voice aloud their notes and can set the dictation to different languages.
When Using Immersive reader, One Note will read the text that is written on the page and provide highlighted text to allow readers to follow along.
Users can adjust the font size, color, grammar preferences, and reading preference where users can change the language.
Read Mode
The site also has unique features that allow for the user to use highlighted text to uncover the "dyslexia ruler" to stay on track with their reading
Read Mode allows for text from websites to be isolated and edited to fit the readers preferences. Users can change font, size, and themes.
