Diveristy
Term used to describe differences among individuals.
Age, race, ethnicity, gender, physical characteristics (height, weight etc.), mental and physical ability, personality, sexual orientation etc.
Need to Manage it - YES.
Due to globalisation.
Allow everyone to have equal opportunity.
To do whats best morally and ethically - need to embed this into a business strategy.

Organisational participation
Focus on short-term costs and not long-term benefits.
Belief that diversity initiatives benefit society not organisations implementing them.
The public policy problem.
Avoiding the creation of legislation that results in ‘protected classes’ of workers.
LO5) The Glass Ceiling.
A limitation on the advancement of women and other minority groups to senior managerial positions in organisations.
In the 21st Century, we are seeing this being overcome.
