Democrat: In favor of more government to help protect civil liberties. In favor of taxing the rich, and most of the time align with moderate or liberal ideology.
Republican: GOP-Grand Old Party: lower taxes, less government, in favor of capitalism, and their views often align with conservatives.
Ideology
Moderate: Views that are often indifferent or see things from both sides. They could have conservative values and liberal values. They mostly stand in the middle.

Liberal: political doctrine that takes protecting and enhancing the freedom of the individual to be the central problem of politics. They also believe that the government is necessary to protect individuals.
