Carbohydrates
contains sugar, starch, dietary fiber and pectin in varying amounts.
starch found in unripe fruit but changes to sugar on ripening
Sugar is present in all fruit in the form of glucose, sucrose and fructose.
Dried fruit has a higher percentage of sugar.
Vitamins
Citrus fruit contains an excellent source of vitamin C.
orange/red coloured fruits e.g. peaches are excellent source of vitamin A.
Contains B-group vitamins e.g. berry and citrus fruit = good source of (B6)
Lack vitamins D and B12

Contains a small amount of Calcium.
Dried fruits e.g. prunes are good source of non-haem iron
