Major Functions of the Reproductive System (M&F)
Female
Ovaries - produce eggs for fertilization
Uterine tube-The Fallopian tubes help for the uterus to fertilize the egg ans sperms,also discharge your monthly discharge of your egg when not pregnant.
Male
organ that are involved in the sexual reproduction
reproductive cells - male sperm also called gametes
Anatomy of Male Reproductive Structures
Testes- has two main function: produce sperm,& produce testosterone
Penis- visible part of the shaft,its also located on the tip of the glands penis,
Vas Deferens- carries sperm from the epididymis to the ejaculatory duct.Also it has a Spermatic cord that makes up ducts deferens,blood vessels& nerves surrounded by he connective tissue sheath
Epididymis- Delivers semen into the females reproductive tract,mature stores sperm cells
Scrotum-Its the thick-skinned sac that surrounds and helps protects the testes.
Seminal Vesicle-produces a thick,alkaline yellowish secretion.
Prostate- Its under the bladder and surrounds the urethra,shaped of chestnut & makes up 25% of semen,mil fluids activate sperm.
Anatomy of the Reproductive Structure
Vagina-connects the uterus and cervix to the outside of the body and allows for menstruation, intercourse,childbirth to happen
Vulva- The vulva controls the opening and closing for the vagina which also controls the protection of uterus and womb
Uterus-Its the primary sex organ,nourishes fertilized egg,sites a fertilized egg,retains it,receives it.
Cervix-keeps bacteria out of your uterus,discharge helps to clean your vagina,helps protect for pregnancy
Fallopian Tubes-helps transport and fertilization to happen,attached to the uterus
Ovaries- Located in the lower abdomen,is a main part of development of puberty and fertility
Hormones of the Reproductive System (M&F)
Testosterone- regulates sex drive and production of red blood cells and sperm
FSH-controls how much of production of sperm.
LH-stimulates sertoli cells for sperm production
Female
Prepares of any possible pregnancy after ovulation or may reject the egg
Estrogen:
Progesterone:
causes breast development

Events of Female Cycles
Follicular Phase- estrogen rises to be ready to release when one matures and the other dies.
Ovulation- An egg releases from your ovary it may or not be fertilized by sperm.If it is fertilized it stays in the uterus to help create a pregnancy. If that not might be the case then the egg sheds causing the women to bleed which is called your period.
Menstruation-The shedding of the uterine lining which is the period,consist of bleeding of 3-5 days,also menstruation -Day-1-5
Proliferative Phase- Estrogen stimulates growth of blood vessels which is the phase of Day-6-14
Disorders Associated with Reproductive System
Chlamydia- caused by bacteria, discharge from the penis/or burning during urination. Female- white or gray discharge or burning in urination.
Gonorrhea- spread from close contact,spread from mother to child during birth,also other unlikely parts like mouth,throat,rectum.Male symptoms are yellow or white drip/discharge from penis
Syphilis-spread from person to person,copper-colored skin rashed on hand,feet or entire body. sores appear with any semen & vaginal fluids.The bacteria may travel to organs,brain,eyes,heart etc,,,,
Herpes-Cannot be cured only treated,male symptoms-small sores/blister on penis.The females symptoms are blister in or around the vagina
Public Lice or Crabs- May be found in pubic hair like axilla,eyelashes,and mustache,maybe be terrible itching treated with shampoo or cream
