First part of inspiration, the planet Mars is considered the "Hell Planet" in Greek mythology. In Greek Mythology, Mars is the name of Ares father, Mars. Mars is the father of the God of War, Ares, but in Greek Mythology, Hell brings War. Thus, Mars brings Ares. Another reason why Mars is branded the Hell Planet is because of its fiery red colour, which is related to the average depiction of hell with fire and lava and all of the other religious hellwalkers.
