Demands on the leader’s time.
Lack of commitment.
Resistance to change.

STANDING PLAN:
Definition: Deals with the plan that recur frequently
TYPE OF STANDING PLAN:
PROCEDURE : plan that specifies how to proceed in a specific situation that routinely arises
RULES: detailed and specific regulation for action.
POLICY : general guidelines for decision making within the organization.
SINGLE USE PLAN :
Definition : A plan that is used to meet the needs of a particular or unique situation
TYPE OF SINGLE USE PLAN :
PROGRAM : Plan that governs a comprehensive set of activities designed to accomplish a particular sets of goals.
PROJECT : Plan that directs the efforts of individuals or work group towards the achievement of goals
BUDGETS :
Plan that specifies how financial resources should be allocated.
OVERCOME THE BARRIERS:
Planning must be clear and definite.
Planning must be organized.
Tolerate diversity of views.
Involve employees in decision making.
Encourage strategic thinking.
