Treatment:The doctors resorted to rudimentary tactics such as bloodletting or punctures.
Superstitious practices such as burning aromatic herbs and baths in rose water or vinegar.
Doctors did not attend to the sick.
As people fled to the countryside, animals became sick, cows, sheep, pigs and chickens also died.

Healthy people stayed away from the sick, Boccaccio assured that everyone sought to save themselves.
Started,before the arrival in Europe,they rumors were heard about a great plague affecting the trade routes.
