Neonatal Jaundice - Coggle Diagram

- - - - usually dxed antenatally
      - severe manifestation
        
        anaemia (low Hb)
        
        hydrops
        
        hepatosplenomegaly
        
        severe jaundice
    - - now more common than rhesus disease
      - usually IgM so don't cross placenta, but sometimes IgG + can cross placenta
      - usually less severe than rhesus disease
        
        Hb usually normal
        
        no hepatosplenomegaly
      - +ve DCT
      - jaundice peaks in first 12-72hrs
    - - Mediterraneans, Middle-East, Far East, African-Americans
      - mainly affects males
    - - much less common than G6PD
      - spherocytes on blood film
