1940
The birth of Instructional Design
1940-1950
Thousands of WWII soldiers are trained.
"The Science of Learning and the Art of Teaching" by B.F.Skinner suggested that instructional programme should include frequent questions etc.
1960-1970
Robert Gagne described 3 domains of learning outcomes and 9 events of instructions in research called "The Conditions of Learning"
The approach was develop across military, academia, and organization. Filmstrips used as media to improve effectiveness of instruction.
1980-1990
The influence of constructivist theory of instructional deign became more active.
CBT via CD-ROM became common vehicle to deliver interactive training.
2000-2010
Companies start to use online learning for on-boarding new employees and developing new skills.
Mobile and social learning becomes starts to penetrate the industry.
2015-Beyond
Instructional materials personalized as a result of "Big Data".
Learner Experience (LX) has given a rise on the process of creating learning experiences.
