Matthew 26
Matthew 26:14-16: Judas asked the chief priests what he would get if he handed Jesus over to them, this was the beginning of Judas’ betrayal.
Matthew 26:17-25:This was the beginning of the last supper and where Jesus told the 12 disciples that one of them will betray him.
Matthew 26:26-30: at this time Jesus took the bread and wine and gave it to his disciples. This is now what we call the eucharist in church.
Matthew 26:31-35: in this passage Jesus predicts peters denial towards him. Peter tries to deny that he would ever do such a thing, yet Jesus thinks otherwise.
Matthew 26:36-46: in this passage Jesus takes his disciples to Gethsemane, where he then took peter and the sons of Zebedee to go and pray. He told him to look out for any trouble which they failed to do three times since they fell asleep. This is when Jesus woke them and told them that they had to go since Jesus' betrayer was coming.
Matthew 26:49-52: the major event that happened in this chapter was the fact that Jesus was arrested. Judas had betrayed him like Jesus knew he would and helped the guards arrest him.
Matthew 26:65-68: in this passage many of the guards that had arrested Jesus decided that because he was worthy of death that they were going to spit and slap him in the face.
Matthew 26:69-75: in this passage Peter disowned Jesus three times. Peter did not want to believe that Jesus was correct that this was going to happen, but it did. This upset Peter and made him feel ashamed.
Matthew 27
Matthew 27:57-60: This passage was the burial of Jesus. This was when Joseph put Jesus in a new tomb and then he rolled a stone over the entrance of the tomb.
Matthew 27:21-26: This passage is about how the people wanted Jesus crucified and Barabbas to be released. This was frightening for Jesus because he knew that he had done nothing wrong, yet he was going to be crucified.
Matthew 27:27-29: In this passage Jesus was mocked by the soldiers who stripped him of his clothing and put him in a robe. This didn’t make Jesus feel very good, but he knew he couldn’t say anything.
Matthew 27:33-38: This was when Jesus was crucified. He was crucified on a cross with two rebels crucified as well beside him.
Matthew 27:45-51: In this passage Jesus called out to Elijah and gave his spirit up to the Lord. The people around him gave him wine vinegar and left him alone to see if Elijah would actually come and save him.
Mark
Mark 11:15-18: Jesus began walking through Jerusalem and noticing that people were not obeying him, as soon as the people started to obey him the leaders of Jerusalem were jealous.
Matthew 28
Matthew 28:1-10: In this passage an angel appeared to the two Mary’s and told them not to be afraid for Jesus had risen. The angel told them to go and tell all the disciples that Jesus has risen and to meet them in Galilee for they will see Jesus.
