What is demography
the study of population
population growth has started to decrease
Around most countries fertility rate has dropped immensely down to around 2.5
Currently the population is growing by 75 million per year !
population growth is slowing down as many people move into big citites where its hard to support the needs for multiple children
Demographic transition model
Stage 1 (Pre-Transition)
Stage 2(Early Transition)
Stage 3(Late transition)
Stage 4 (Post Transition)
Many children would be born but the poupulatrtion didnt grow because out of 6 children only 2-3 of them would survive
For example bangladesh has dropped from 5.5 down to 2.3
World Wars
Birth rate: Its the rate of how many babies are born and ordinarily determined as the yearly number of live births per 1,000 babies.
Death Rate: The proportion among deaths and people in a predefined populace during a specific time span. Which that is typically expressed per 1000 or 100,000 individuals.
Natural increase
Lack of resources
land
Industrial revoloution
More people had oppurtunities so they made more money to support their family
Way beeter healthcare so more kids would survive at young ages and seniors would live forlonger as well
As the healthcare was really good the death rates decreases severely.
Both world war 1 and 2 both had a huge impact on the population which made it decrease.
Theworld war caused many casulties aroung the whole world and not only to soldiers or citizens and this made the worldwide population decrease by a lot
As they had higher incomes families were able to buy bigger, healthier and enough meals they need
the population was growing but very slowly
There won't be enough fresh and healthy water for everyone in the world as we will need a lot more filtered bottles and filtered taps as well
Alike water there wont be enough food for eveyone to eat and some people will start to starve to death
people will have to live in very crowded places and there wont be enough space for everyone
Too much pollution as there will be millions of more cars on the road and that will also crerate more traffic
Humans will try to eat more meat and this will lead to many extinctions of differents animals
As more land is taken by people there wont be as many farms to help create food that is needed
There will also be a lot of more greenhouse gases and toxins in the air as more factories get built and work harder
Resources will be used/ consumed a lot faster and we will run out of them
Deforestation will cause many more problems such as greenhouse gases which are not good for our enviorment
Education for women
if women get a proper education birth rates will decrease as they will have jobs and not a lot of time to take care of their children
Spread awarness
People who know about the problems of overpopulation should spread awarness and educate others
Better healthcare
although we already have good healthcare if we can can better healthcare in devoloping countries mortality rates will decrease and people will start to have less children
Government incentives
Let women know that they dont have to give birth to babies if they dont want to itsn their right
A lot more better healthcare
The eldery/ Seniors will live on for longer
Average age until dying will go up to 80 around most countries worldwide
The population will surpass 10 billion by the time the years hit 2100
Majority of the population will live in Africa and Asia
We will reach the peak of population growth and the death rate and birth rate will be similar
There wont be a lot of population growth
The population will continue to move into urban areas
It will be a lot costlier/expensive as more people need services and neccisties
Most Countries are ready to mocve into stage 4
Population growth is starting to decrease
Alot more poverty
although there will be more oppurtunities it wont be enough to support all
Poverty rates will continue to grow
Families will continue to give birth to more children to help support themselves
In this stage countries populatios are barely growing as birth and death rates are similar and out of 6-10 children born per family very few reach adulthood. There is no country in this stage right now
There is better healthcare in this stage so birth rate is still high but death rate drops and this makes the population boom. There are just some really poor countries in this stage
In this stage the death rate drops as well as the birth rate this helps the population growth start to grow by a little less than before. Most devoloping countries are currently in this stage
In this stage the birth rate and death rate both become extremly similar and this makes the population growth steady , some countries are in this stage and many are getting ready to go into this stage
If more companies and buisnes create more oppurtuniies in poor devoloping countries families will be able to get a decent income and they wont need as many children since they can afford more things
