Community
Church Functions have student programs and many members have ties to the school districts in the surrounding area.
-
Chelsea has ties to Ann Arbor, Dexter, Brighton, etc. due to its location and size of the city.
Online
YouTube
Subscriptions to channels such as Crash Course offer a wide array of instructional topics in multiple subject areas that are informative but engaging for the students.
There are many channels by seasoned teachers willing to help new teachers out in setting up their classrooms or formulating assignments.
Social Media
I don't use many social media sites - indeed, if I can avoid it I try my best to. Rather than using Twitter of Facebook, I am more partial to following specific people or blogs when I come across useful material.
As getting a social media account will likely be a necessary evil when teaching, I am willing to reluctantly look into Twitter for my future needs. As of right now, I don't use any of them to keep my blood pressure at a lower level.
Potential Tools
Applications such as Kahoot are useful for studying and the newer realm of virtual reality education in the form of video games is especially intriguing for recreating and walking through historical settings and locations.
Another program I am interested in looking into the potential for a classroom is called Discord. It is a messaging application for gamers, but because it is versatile it would be a good way to provide space for study groups and class collaboration.

Professional
Academia
There are many professors at EMU that are willing to collaborate with their students as they work through the student teaching process.
My Supervisor for student teaching is very hands on and engaged with securing the welfare of her student teachers. She was, in fact, my former U.S. History teacher in high school, so I know from firsthand experience that she is willing to talk through and offer advice on multiple subjects.
Work
My employer is willing to take on college students with the understanding that they will need to take days off to do coursework and job hunt in their studied area. Hours are flexible.
