What are some of the barriers that prevent people from moving?
There are multiple barriers that can prevent people from moving, one of those being education or skills. For example, job opportunities in urban areas may require more human skills/resources, entailing a higher wage, unskilled workers are left out and are paid lower wages than skilled workers because there is less demand for unskilled labour as unskilled workers are easy and cheap to acquire. Another barrier that can prevent people from moving is discrimination, people are less likely to move to a location with discrimination because there is a lack of security and respect around them, they may get payed a lower wage and be may be treated as inferior. Furthermore, there are many personal reasons why people don't move, especially when they are constrained in some type of way.One of these barriers could be financial problems, having not enough money to support themselves would deter someone from moving. Another barrier would be: having children that you cannot neglect, these children need support from their parents and are not independent, parents cannot simply leave their children in pursuit for better opportunities. Because of this they cannot move. Fear is also another barrier that prevents people from moving, it can be derived from almost anything but some people are fearful; that they will not adapt to a new environment as they are unfamiliar with it.
