        These techniques may help children/teens navigate social media better, but there is still pressure coming from everywhere.
- - - - Celeberties such as Kim Kardashian who promote weight loss products, which are bad for young audiences. They want to look like her. Celebrities set unrealistic body image standards for all people and that is the cause of body image and eating disorders in most people aged 12-18.
        
        Children and teenagers do need to be aware that some celebrities are paid to advertise the products they endorse
- - - - Social media is a good source of information most of the time, it can help teens make better health and lifestyle choices based on the ones they have seen others their age make and how they have seen those people benefit from those choices.
        
        Social media also helps teens navigate their gender, ethics, sexuality, and identity. Social media apps and TV shows or movies are also a good and helpful insite to those things. Maybe they have felt a certain way for a while and they do not know if it is normal or not they can always go to social media and see tons of people feeling the same way.
        
        Although all of these things are great for teens, there are some websites or apps where people spread false information and this is also a spot where teens are not thinking. During adlosence teens guide their thinking and decisions more by their emotions. Logic is something they don't give a chance to so it is tough for them to really see what is true and what is false.
- - - - There is a specific normal on social media which is advertised by influencers and celebrities. If you act this way and buy these clothes this is the only way you will be considered cool or good enough. Things like this cause insecurities within children.
        
        Media influence is also be indirect. This includes sexualised images and content on Instagram, Snapchat, Tiktok, Facebook and YouTube. It also includes violent imagery and bad language in news media,TV shows, movies, video games and some song lyrics.That kind of media influence is suggesting to teenagers that these are the things to need to do to behave and look because this is ‘normal’.
