Mechanism of action
Catalyzed reaction in order to maintain intracellula of tetrrahydrofolate
Tetrahydrofolate must be generated through dehydrofolate reductase
Dehydrofolate reductase reduces folic acid to tetrahydrofolic acud
It inhibits dehydrofolate reductase
Dehydrofolate reductase inhibition results in the lack of purines and thymidylate
Methotrexate works against cell multiplication
