Type of structure: Combination of hierarchical and flat structure. Director is on top and then Service Manager but we all work together and catch up with weekly meetings.
Formal and informal workplace links: We all treat each other with respect and work together in a professional manner. On the other hand we can be informal and having a laugh together. Usually every last Friday of the month we have a BBQ where we enjoy a Beer together and do some team bonding.
Professional network that operate within the company: We have a trading program that all the workers and the office staff work on it. If there is a new Job coming in we create it and send it to the workers tablets. They can access it and change status, make notes or just send it back once finished. Other then the system we send emails to each other as a reminder or outlook appointments for important meetings.
Professional relationship between workers: Our relationship between workers is really good. We communicate in a respectful manner and are clear in what we need or want. The Admin needs to communicate with everyone to make sure all the jobs are correctly finished before invoicing. If there are any issues the Service Manager will get notified and next steps will come into place like for example parts need to be ordered or a quote needs to be send.
Communication channels: Our main communication channels are Emails, Phone and verbal communication. We receive a lot of phone calls from clients, new enquiries, Service calls, supplier or workers. Email: most of the new jobs are emailed to our receptionist. Bills and statements are emailed to the Admin. The service manager receives lots of emails from supplier and clients for updates on the order status or job status. The Director receives lots of phone calls from mainly clients for new jobs.
For most of our clients the communication channel stays the same and will not change. Some clients prefer an email some prefer a phone call. It all depends what the client, supplier or workmate prefers.
