Idea Exploration
The heated sleeping bag will utilize metal wires, embedded within the bag. These wires will conduct heat around the sleeping bag, through the use of battery electricity. The introduction of warmth into a sleeping bag will improve comfort and quality of sleep, for traveling, hiking, or adventuring situations.
Idea Setbacks
This design Concept has a few setbacks including the following:
While the warmth produced by the aluminium wires will improve sleep quality, the wires themselves may prove to be uncomfortable during sleep.
The warmth conducted by the aluminium wires may become hazardous as the sleeping bag may set fire or become a harmful temperature.

Idea Conclusion
- Although this idea, is interesting and shows potential, I have decided that I will not pursue this idea due to a couple of reasons. Firstly, the fire hazard, may prove to be especially dangerous. Furthermore, this design project, is quite a simple idea, and I would prefer to develop something that is slightly more advanced.
Idea Exploration
This idea, addresses the shortcomings of snowboarding, the inability to traverse effectively. I am a snowboarder myself, and understand how inefficient, traversing terrain on a snowboard can be. This idea will use snow mobile technology, to create a detachable tractor pad, that runs on battery power. This idea will be particularly helpful for backcountry snowboarders who are carrying a backpack.
Idea Setbacks
This design concept has a few setbacks including the following:
The battery powered tractor pad, will be heavy and difficult to construct. Due to this it will be unappealing for snowboarders to carry around the slopes.
It will be extremely difficult to construct, large design companies have attempted a similar project and failed.

Idea Conclusion
- This idea, is very advanced, and an encouraging prospect for snowboarders in the future, yet it will be difficult to construct and most likely unsuccessful. Due to this I will not pursue this idea.
Idea Exploration
This idea will make use of small wireless speakers, positioned within the existing bike frame, and produce localised sound for the rider. The speakers will be placed inside the topcap with a small outlet. These speakers will be good for either group or individual rides.
Idea Setbacks
This design concept has a few setbacks including the following:
- This project would be very easy to construct and would likely leave me with a lot of spare time.

Idea Conclusion
I have come to the conclusion that this project will be to small scale for me to choose as my MDP.
Idea Exploration
This idea will involve creating a waterproof compartment within the body of a surfboard to carry valuables such as phones, keys, wallets, earbuds. Further advancement of this idea may involve creating a transparent window, and an exposed, waterproof microphone so as to use the phone/device.
Idea Setbacks
This design Concept has a few setbacks including the following:
- Waterproofing the compartment may prove to be difficult.
- The risk of ruining a surfboard while building.
- Being able to create a phone operating compartment may be difficult and ineffective
