Long term I want to start my own brand from my experience in the industry. I want to invest in a studio space to work and design and fill it with beautiful fashion manufacturing equipment. I want acquire a LLC.

Me at Work
First and foremost, I thrive in a workplace that allows me to explore my creativity. I like to think outside of the box and approach problems in as many different ways as possible. I like to work with my hands and get dirty if I have to. I also work great in groups and often find group settings boost inspiration and motivation.
I am obsessed with detail. Fashion design is a perfect career for me because I love working through designs from ideation through completion. It is the most exciting thing to see your designs come to life through your hard work and strict attention to details. I love the possibilities fashion design creates to have a positive impact on a lot of people.
I also want a career that allows me to create sustainable products and there is a lot of room for positive change in the fashion industry with regards to ethics and sustainability. Creatively there is no ceiling with fashion design and it will never get boring as it never stays the same. At work, I thrive on change and adapting to it and constantly becoming better.
Life-Long Learner
Assistant Fashion Designers constantly need to be updated with the latest trends. I am always looking new ways to change and update my wardrobe so I tend to follow these trends very closely. Currently there is a trend surrounding patchwork and exposed seams and stitches.
I am a self-taught tailor with about three years of experience now. I understand pattern making and what it really takes to make a quality garment. Sewing is therapy for me, so I am constantly learning new and better things. With the technical skills I have, I am able to experiment with designs immediately instead of waiting for third party manufacturers.
The fashion industry will forever be a booming industry because there is no idea of a future without clothing. As an industry it is constantly changing and adapting so it needs people, like me, who are able to maneuver that change. New, original trends are seen every season and there is no glass ceiling on creativity.
I will not pursue another degree. The only knowledge I need to be successful can be found through new experience and life itself.
