What you receive from foods and how they effect your body
Vitamin a helps protect eyes
Protein helps in growth and repair of tissue)
Iron helps make red blood cells
Fats and oils help provide insulation and protect organs
Calcium gives you healthy bones and teeth
Sodium is needed for muscles and nerves to function properly
Starch is broken up into sugars that are used for the body
Vitamin c keeps the llining of our mouth healthy
Vitamin d is neede for bone growth
Vitamin b is necessary for healthy cellular respiration
Carbohydrates provides energy to the body
Water does a lot for our body
Organs
Liver creates bile to help break down fat
Stomach churns food up and kills bacteria using hydrocloric acid
Large intestine recovers water and expel feces
Pancreas produces pancreatic juice that’s added to the small intestine
Rectum stores feces
Small intestine digestion occurs here then the digested food is absorbed into into the blood
Digestive track
(1) food is chewed in the mouth and swallowed
(2) the food makes its way down your throat via peristalsis
(3) the food enters your stomach where it’s churned up
(4) the food leaves the stomach and enters the small intestine where it’s digested
(5) the food makes its way through your large intestine where water is removed leaving feces
(6) the feces is stored in your rectum till it’s expelled from your body
