Disadvantages
Teachers suffer from the expensive aids that they use through this method.
By using this method, there are competent teachers
Regular students, especially from rural background, face problems to understand the things that they want to learn through this method.
This method is not suitable for learners in the early stage of learning.
Reading and writing skills are neglected as the direct method focuses more on oral practice
To make this method effective, it is better if learners have foreign language background at home.
