Tone / Attitude - understand the author point of view/position - find "feeling words". Just facts means: neutral tone
If you identify the purpose of the passage, you can *map the structure
Purpose of a passage: 1) tell a story, 2) correct a record – offer a new explanation, 3) compare and contrast, 4) advocate and defend, 5) criticize
EXTRACT QUESTIONS: information or abstract, and inference (fact test)
