Treaty conditions
Army conditions:
- Military was reduced to 100.000 soldiers and no air force was allowed.
- Under the Treaty, Germany agreed to take the blame for the war.
Economic conditions:
- They hurt Germany's economy.
- Germany was forced to pay reparations: £132 billion gold marks.
Territorial conditions:
- They lost Sudeteland and all overseas territories.
- Within this land were industries and agriculture
- Therefore, Germany had fewer goods to sell.

The Treaty of Versailles
- Germans were forced to sign the Treaty of Versailles, the legal agreement to end the war. They called it a “Diktat”.

Hyperinflation: 1923
- Poverty, unemployment and loss of people's life-savings.
- Hyperinflation + German anger led to Hitler starting a revolt in 1923.
- Gave him a public profile.
- Publicity helped the Nazis get more supporters.
- Despite this, Hitler did not take power until a decade later.
- The Depression was more important in ending Weimar, and was not caused by Versailles.
