There are different ways of classifying the methods for identifying needs
Secondary data can be collected through desk research of material studies with existing data
Primary data can be collected by the filed research,it can be collected directly from the people affected by the respective need

1. DESK ANALYSIS
It is also known as "secondary data"
The Census Report:
The procedure of systematically enumering,acquiring and recording information about the members of a given population

Data can be collected from individual or large groups using different methods

2. FIELD ANALYSIS
a. Trial and Error
to improve something in the instituition existing course to complete the missing points that will make the course looks perfect
b. Survey Methods
measure the procedures that is involve asking any questions to the respondents to get the data
Aimed to investigate the needs of the direct beneficiary
Individual Techniques
collecting all the data by doing one by one interview to all the respondents
interviewing the respondents such as: asking,observing and testing them
Group Techniques
focus group,nominal group,panel discussion,consensual group,delphi method,public hearing and community forum
all above that involve gathering the data from all the respondents at one time
